Morning: Tower of London & Tower Bridge

Begin your London adventure at the iconic Tower of London. This 1,000‑year‑old fortress has been a royal palace, prison and treasury. It opens daily around 9 a.m., and guided tours introduce you to the Crown Jewels and medieval history. Late Morning: St Paul’s Cathedral

Hop on the Tube to St Paul’s Cathedral. The current cathedral dates from 1697 and features a majestic dome and the Whispering Gallery. Climb the 528 steps for far‑reaching city views, or admire the architecture from the nave. Tickets are available on site.

Afternoon: British Museum

After lunch in the Covent Garden area, head to the British Museum. Opened in 1753, this world‑famous museum houses treasures like the Rosetta Stone and Egyptian mummies. Admission is free and it’s open daily, so you can wander at your own pace and stay as long as you like.

Morning: Buckingham Palace & Changing of the Guard

Start your second day at Buckingham Palace, the monarch’s official London residence. From July to September you can tour the State Rooms; outside those months, watch the colourful Changing of the Guard ceremony, which usually starts at 11 a.m. on select days. Arrive early to secure a good viewpoint.

Late Morning: Westminster Abbey & Big Ben

Walk through St James’s Park to Westminster Abbey, site of royal weddings and coronations since 1066. The Gothic church opens around 9 a.m. and adult tickets include an audio guide. Just across the road, admire the Palace of Westminster and the famous clock tower known as Big Ben. Pre‑book a tour if you’d like to see Parliament’s chambers.

Afternoon: London Eye & South Bank

Cross Westminster Bridge to board the London Eye. Opened in 2000, this giant ferris wheel lifts you high above the Thames for sweeping views; a rotation takes about 30 minutes. Pre‑book to skip queues. Afterwards, wander along the South Bank—pop into the free Tate Modern for modern art or relax at riverside cafés.
